Manca Švara

Jungian Analyst (SZAP, IAAP), Master of Fine Arts (University of Ljubljana)

Manca Švara is a Jungian analyst, psychotherapist, and founder of the Epiona Institute. She practices Jungian psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, integrating elements of transpersonal therapy and art-based approaches.

Education
Manca completed her training as a Jungian analyst in 2025 with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), through the Slovenian Association for Analytical Psychology (SZAP) in Ljubljana. In 2022, she earned a diploma in counseling/coaching with the IPAL method on the topic of intergenerational trauma at the IPAL Institute, Ljubljana. She also completed psychotherapeutic propedeutics at Sigmund Freud University, Ljubljana (2019). Her first degree is a Master of Arts from the University of Ljubljana (2012). In addition, she has completed the first year of training in psychedelic psychotherapy at the Rabbit Hole Institute (2022). She is currently pursuing further training in Jungian Sandplay therapy with ISST-accredited analysts—a method particularly effective in working with children and adolescents.

Professional Path
On her path toward becoming a Jungian analyst, Manca undertook more than 300 hours of personal analysis with IAAP training analysts Tina Papič and Dragutin Vučković. Her clinical work was supervised by Dr. Jožef Magdič, Mauro Bonetti, Olga Kondratova, John Colverson, Martin Schmidt, and numerous other IAAP-accredited supervisors.

Areas of Focus
Her therapeutic interests encompass not only the analytical psychology of C. G. Jung but also transpersonal psychotherapy, art therapy, and the use of symbols in healing processes. She has specialized in early relational trauma, complex trauma (C-PTSD), the mother wound, as well as issues such as high sensitivity, addictions, and narcissistic injury.

In her research projects, she focuses on the impact of intergenerational trauma and traumas related to totalitarian regimes, forced migrations, divisions, and lost identities on the psyche of different generations in borderland regions.

Professional Activities

Since March 2024, she has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Slovenian Association for Analytical Psychology (SZAP), where she actively promotes the ideas of Carl Gustav Jung in Slovenia and abroad and supports the study of Jungian analysis in Slovenia. She is also part of the organizing committee of the international Jungian movement Analysis and Activism. She regularly attends professional seminars and conferences and, when necessary, carries out supervisions with various accredited Jungian analysts.

Since October 2024, she has also been a training analyst at Sigmund Freud University in Ljubljana and a training analyst for IAAP routers.
